Design Trends of 2021

The past two years have been a rollercoaster but one thing that has been consistent are the home improvement projects! Because everyone has been spending so much time in their homes, they’ve been dedicated to making their spaces as uplifting and comfortable as possible.

Read on as I share some of the design trends we’ve been seeing this year!

  1. Greige (Grey + Beige) Wall Color is IN!

While white walls will always be on trend, we’re seeing a comeback with warmer neutrals this year. Solid grey can leave the home feeling a bit cold, where solid beige tones can leaving it feeling too warm. The combination of the two makes for a perfect, cozy balance.

2. Earthy & Organic Material

We’re seeing earth tones and organic fabrics everywhere! From jute rugs, to rattan chairs, to woven light fixtures - this style is modern, yet slightly rustic. We will definitely see this textured, raw trend carry into 2022.

3. Wallpaper

While wallpaper has been trending the past few years, people have typically been going with just accent walls. However, 2021 has been the year for wallpaper risks! In terms of application and design, wallpaper has come a long way. Plus, there are a lot of great peel and stick solutions if you’re not quite ready to commit to one pattern long term.

4. Less Clutter

Less is more this year! Gone are the days of needing to over-decorate every nook and cranny of your home. Clean and minimal is in, cluttered and overdone is out! One way to start is to be sure every item in your house serves a purpose and that all of the details are chosen carefully.

What’s been your favorite design trend this year? What trend could you live without?
